Ah, the Nest. I remember our political science teacher held a "study session" at the Nest at 10:30 am - pitchers of beer and politico talk...hilarious. The Nest is a bar, but it's more of a hangout. My friends and I would knock back a few pitchers, eat some mouth-watering burgers, and watch a ball game in the early evening. They have a pool table and an area that can be seperated off for big groups/parties/etc. Not just college kids, even a grown-up can be a regular here. Also, I don't want to get anyone in trouble but if you are in to dice games that involve decent sums of money...I think the staff can hook you up. There was often a game going on when I was there.

You can be cozy and content at The Eagle's Nest. Totally hospitable employees and clientele. Rad but not ridiculous. Whimsical but not worm infested. A place to sip and savor. Food is fine and drinks are divine. Get comfortable, get down, get funky without rancor. A place to spoon without being a loon. Say hi to Tim, bartender extraordinary. Watch The Brewers, Bucks, Packers and other semi-potent teams. Take a leak in a pristine rest room. Wash hands and resume socialization. No fisticuffs allowed but discreet kissing is passable and desirable and cool.

Always loved trivia and bingo nights in college. Lots of fun. Unfortunately when my team and I won trivia one night we got a free barrel party and that turned into an experience worth remembering. First we show up for the party that we had to give an advance (one week) notice for and they have nothing ready. Also, they notified us that the barrel was free but were going to have to charge us for renting the room. What? Whatever. Then once they get everything set up we get a couple cups of beer and wait for the foam to settle. Right before taking a drink of mine I notice some black residue floating in it. Turns out we all had it in our drinks. We then proceeded to check the tap and sure enough CAKED with black residue and guck. I grabbed a napkin from the bar and swirled it in the tapper and out came BLACK slim. Nats everywhere. Absolutely disgusting. I showed the bartenders and they were applaud. Not sure whose responsibility it is, but shows lack in cleaning directions from management. They decided to give us pitchers instead, yet never refunded our "room rental" which was just a section of the bar that we shared with everyone else. Needless to say, we won't be going back. It was fun while it lasted, Nest!

Great place to grab a few beers, burgers are cheap and service was excellent. Athletic bartender working was pretty hot too which helped the atmosphere.

ahh "the nest." closest bar to campus. and when i say close, i mean across the street...20 feet. i must say that i didn't go here much as a UWL youngster. but when i was older - like my senior year, we went here ALL THE F-ING TIME! cheers to the nest for running the alpine shuttle during pat mccurdy shows! yeah, i didn't think there was anything wrong with drinking between political science finals! apparently i don't change much.

This is a good place to shoot pool or play darts with locals. Even if you don't care for Old Style, you may want to have a cold one form here. They get it straight from the brewery that is in the same town. There is alot of good restaurants and clubs in this area. The start of the Mississippi River is here and makes for a scenic backdrop.

Visiting town for graduation and wanted to check out a local place close to UW-La Crosse. Found the Eagles Nest and decided to give it a shot... And I'm so glad i did! The interior is spacious with ample tables and several flat screen tvs on the walls. The bar was filled with patrons so I grabbed a seat near the window. The waitress came quickly with a menu and was very friendly. I ordered the last Leiney's Honey Weiss ($3.50 bottle) and scanned the menu quickly. Prices were very reasonable ($5 bacon cheese burger + $1 for amazingly delicious seasoned fries). The waitress brought my burger and fries out within 5 minutes- impressive! The burger was just enough and the fries were very delicious. Waitress followed up with me at the right times to make sure I was good. A hidden gem for sure.

I gotta say this place gets better every time we go. We came in and the place looks really clean. Smiling staff and great attitudes around. Our server, Ashley, was learning and being taught by a experienced hostess, but you would never know. Ashley had the people skills and level of friendly that made you feel well taken care of. Always checked on us and was very good at knowledge of the menu. Her recommendation was spot on! Cajun Chicken flatbread! Um yes please! It was simply fantastic. Since Jon and his family took over the level is back up to waaaay above the Eagles Nest pre-2009. I would recommend anyone to stop in for a fast casual lunch with a great salad bar and great service. The food is made fresh and to order. Well done!!!

Went here again but for lunch. It was just 2 of us. I had the special. Giant fish taco. It was the best fish taco I've had. My husband had a BLT with the salad bar. Service could have been better as they were not busy.

Really average bar, really average bar food, dumb bartenders. But this is where I go for lunch sometimes with the people that I work with.

Came here to enjoy some beer and good ... Great food loved the cheese curds coming from California.. Wisconsin has good cheese... My three star rating is only because the service is ok... You have to go up to the bar a lot to order... Get water... Get food.. Supposedly that's how it is out here in Wisconsin other than that it was yummy!! Def come back again!

As mentioned, this bar is directly across the street from UW-L which makes it a great place to drink after (during) work. They have a variety of New Glarus Beers on tap and in the bottle which is a big plus for me. We grabbed a few pitchers and hung out. The deep fried cheese curds were amazing. Then again, I'm still in awe over deep fried cheese curds. It wasn't crowded at 3pm on a Wednesday during the summer but I'm sure this place is packed with students during the school year.
